Finally, somebody got the bright idea to make a completely flat space forward of the seat so that you can stand up without having any sort of protrusion to trip your feet when you get excited and forget that it is there! Hurrah!!!

However due it its length, it is not a good choice for those of you who are looking for a highly maneuverable kayak and with a beam of only 30’, it may be less stable than some of you would prefer. In addition, with a weight of 76 lbs, it is a bit on the heavy side unless you are those giant, WWF, wrestlers and thus, you may want to consider a lighter kayak instead.

However, if you value speed and have the experience to handle a kayak with a somewhat narrow beam, then this kayak will reward you with compete satisfaction with its Swede Form, “Ocean Angler”, double-tunnel, hull with a prominent keel to enable you to reach those distant locations or offshore waters quickly and easily.

Another aspect that I really like about this kayak is, due to the way that the seat and sides are molded, the cockpit cradles you somewhat like a sit-inside kayak but, still offers the convenience of a sit-on-top. In addition, while not a fancy as the seats on some of the other fishing kayaks I have reviewed, this kayak nonetheless has a comfortable seating arraignment in the form of a molded depression accompanied by an excellent kayak seat cushion and back rest that features an internal skeleton that causes the seat to retain its shape hour after hour so that it will not sag or collapse with continual use while also controlling the degree of flex laterally without putting undue pressure on your back.

Plus, it also features a Center Console with a hinged lid that provides easy access to the storage area within as well as a place to mount fishing electronics forward of the hatch but which has been thoughtfully placed forward enough that it does not interfere with the padded standing platform (finally!!!!).

Plus, for dry storage, there is an Oval Hinge hatch located in the bow which provides access to a large hold beneath and, of course, there is a tank well in the stern that is perfect for carrying a cooler or a live bait well.

Last, for easy transport, the Moken 14 features a Wheel in the Keel which consists of a hard, plastic, wheel mounted in the keel so that in order to transport your kayak from your vehicle to the launch and back again, all you have to do is lift the bow and pull; a valuable feature when you are transporting a 76 lb. kayak.

Then, for mounting accessories such as rod holders, the gunwales are fitted with Feelfree’s Uni-Track system which also works in conjunction with Feefree’s Uni-Bar to turn your cockpit into a fishing command center! This Feelfree exclusive accessory is designed to mount horizontally to your Uni-Track system to create an accessible dashboard for all of your electronics and other rigging accessories and, because it uses the Uni-Track system, the Uni-Bar easily slides backward and forwards.

Also, it includes easy access lure hangers along with an integrated ruler that measures up to 15”. Furthermore, it has a pair of molded rod holders on either side aft of the seat and a pair of Paddle Keepers molded into the sides to enable you to park your paddle out of the way while fishing.

This is one kayak that I can say “yes, without a doubt, I would defiantly buy this kayak”. However, I also happen to prefer long, slim, kayaks over short, wide, ones but, I also have the experience necessary to keep them upright and pointed in the direction that I want them to go.

Also, this is one of the first fishing kayaks I have seen with a completely unobstructed fishing platform forward of the seat but which still has a center console.

Plus, it has a comfortable seat and a stand-assist strap so, about the only feature it lacks is an anchor trolley. But, it may not suite everyone and thus, you may or may not find it suitable for your particular needs.
