Key Features

Nature Friendly

These style camping stoves are the future, the lack of gas/batteries required are great when on any camping trip. Not only is it more convenient but it is kinder to nature. So, the top feature has got to be that the Solo Stove Campfire is nature friendly.

One of the main reasons people decide to go camping is so they are experiencing nature, so if you’re going to buy a camping stove, then making sure it is less harsh on the environment is a good start.

The fuel needed for this stove is everything you can find around you when camping so it is easy to have a great campfire whilst using twigs, pinecones, and leaves. This also means less mess which, again, is another tick box for this model.

Portability

This stove is mega light and compact when packing up. Popping it in your hiking backpack is going to be no bother. Its packed size is between 6-7 inches for both height and width, which if you're out on survival or enjoying bushcraft will mean you have a great stove taking up only a small amount of room.

Design

The Unique Airflow System makes it extremely efficient. The cold air intake holes at the bottom allow air to channel up and at the same time, channel warm air up between the walls of the stove. The oxygen feeding back into the firebox causes secondary combustion allowing the fire to burn with little smoke.

Due to this system, there is much less wood used compared to open campfires. Be mindful though, this is seen as an open fire, so if you are going to a campsite, then this is something you may need to consider.

Price

If you are serious about camping/backpacking, then you will understand the importance of getting high-quality gear. The last thing you want is to be in the back and beyond and your campfire to break. No warmth, no way of cooking, no boiling water.

Now with quality, especially something of this spec, the price is going to match that. I don't think that it is unreasonable, and for the brand, high spec, material, the two pots (bonus!) and other features, I think this is a great purchase.

Suitable for?

If you are a backpacker, wild camper, outdoor survival, family, basically, everyone. The only thing I would WARN is that this falls under the open fire category so make sure your campsite allows them before you purchase.

Comparison to Similar Camping Stoves

Of course, like any other product, there are similar camping stoves available on the market, and many of them cheaper than the Solo Stove Campfire. However, keep in mind that this is an award-winning brand, so you know you’re paying for quality.

Not forgetting that this is a set as well, so you’re not just getting the stove but also the pots. If you are just looking for the camping stove, then I can’t lie, there are much cheaper options available, but this is a perfect option for a family/solo or even a couple wanting a multiple purpose set.

Verdict

Guys, there is nothing that I can say about this product that is negative, I like it all. It comes from an awesome manufacturer, reputable for their camp stoves, they are decorated with awards for their products which gives you even more confidence in their brand.

The lightweight aspect is always a winner when you are having to carry things, the design is impeccable and the bonus of leaving little remanence is fab. The two-pot set combo means no matter the length of time you are spending out in the wilderness, you're going to be fine.

No fuel needed, no gas canister to carry, no batteries. Go and purchase and get yourself out into the wild!
